Sweet Stitches For The Rosy Cheeks Fabric Tour

As a fabric blogger for Poppie Cotton Fabrics, it brings me so much joy to sew with brand new fabric collections and showcase them for you in my signature Molly and Mama style. Today I’m sharing the Rosy Cheeks Collection designed by Lori Woods which is arriving in stores from July 2025 (and there’s a special coupon shared at the end of the post if you’d like to place an order with my favourite store).

I’ve created two different projects using this darling fabric and I can’t wait to show you! Read on for all the details.

This is how the Rosy Cheeks Collection is described on the Poppie Cotton website;

Rosy Cheeks will have you grinning ear to ear with a smile of joy and happiness. There is such a sweetness about each little print in this collection. From the strawberries among the tossed roses and flowers to the tea cups on polka dots. There are tiny bows mixed with roses and more bows on a diagonal grid with chickens and flower bouquets.

Sew Tidy Ironing Caddy – A New Pattern Launch

The first project I’d love to share with you today is a practical new Molly and Mama design – the Sew Tidy Ironing Caddy.

I spend a lot of time at my ironing board when I’m in the studio, so this clever creation was designed to drape over the end of my ironing board and hold all of my most frequently used tools and notions, from scissors and snips to spray starch and quilting clips. It’s a straightforward design to put together and a great weekend project. You can find this brand new pattern in my store.

The original caddy features a hand stitched English paper pieced panel on the top. But the Rosy Cheeks Collection comes with three beautiful hexagon cheater prints so I knew I wanted to choose my favourite one to feature in this project. Using the ‘Good Day Multi’ hexagon print (shown below) was a huge time saver, and still allowed me to achieve the same result. What a win!

For the rest of the ironing board caddy I pulled my favourite prints to complement the hexagon cheater cloth. I knew I wanted to feature the pink print with all the sweet faces. Lori calls it Mornin’ Pink and you can see it below.

There were lots more pretty motifs to show off, including tea cups, roses, and a diagonal print that contains the daintiest little designs including chickens and bows. Aren’t they lovely? The prints in this collection feature such a range of different motifs and colours. Yet they work together so beautifully in a larger project.

Here’s some close up images of the ironing board caddy from different angles. I loved using decorative stitching on some of the pocket bindings.

And I also loved using the lace and ric rac trims for added interest.

You can customise it for your own ironing board width and pocket requirements. I love that it has pockets on both sides and can be used on the right hand side of the ironing board, or the left hand side (for left handed people like me!). So practical. This version has already found a permanent home in my studio.

Felt Flower Coasters from my Free Pattern

Some of the pretty fabric scraps left over from making the ironing caddy were perfect for putting together some simple felt flower coasters. You only need a 3 inch circle of fabric and some wool felt for each one.

They’re completely hand stitched and are lovely to sew when you’re out and about. I always have a couple on the go. The best part is that they’re made with my FREE PATTERN. Simply fill out your details below to have the PDF instructions sent directly to your email inbox.

To create these pretties, I used the hexagon cheater print again and a small scale floral (called Welcome Blue) for the other. The prints were paired with coordinating wool felt from My Felt Lady and embroidery floss in complementary colours. Aren’t they darling?

I use these coasters at my desk every day – just spot clean them, or hand wash them gently in cold water if they need laundering!
