A pattern review for Radiant Home Studio – The Mini Highland House Cushion

The lovely Sara from Radiant Home Studio is celebrating her blog’s second birthday with a bit of a tour. And I jumped at the chance to sew up one of her patterns for the tour because it’s just so darn cute! So today, I’ll be showing you my version of her ‘Mini Highland House’ cushion.

In the interests of full disclosure, Sara sent me a complimentary copy of this pattern. However, all opinions and thoughts on the pattern are my own.

Mini Highland House Cushion by Molly and Mama

When Sara emailed the mini highland house cushion pattern, it was a quick download and super easy to print. When I opened the document, I was struck by the professionalism of the layout. It was clear and concise. The images and graphics were neatly displayed. And my overall impression was that it would be a fun sew! And I was right!!

I created this adorable mini house using linen and some pretty Liberty scraps. I am just loving peach tones at the moment! I added the included heart applique to the window, but I could see you adding lots of other things like curtains and shutters, just like Sara suggests in the pattern.

Now that I’ve made one of the cushions, I can’t wait to do more. I really want to try one with lots of added embroidery and other embellishments, to give it a real ‘fairy house’ look.

But right now, this one looks right at home on my daughter’s shelf, along with her ‘Dandelion Doe’ felt doll, also made with Liberty scraps (I just loved stitching up this Posie Gets Cozy pattern). The bunnies look like they’re having fun too, don’t you think?
