Home Sweet Home Christmas Ornaments

I love making these easy fabric covered Christmas ornaments. They’re perfect for using your favourite fabric scraps. All you need is some simple crafting supplies and some clear plastic baubles or ornaments.

Where Can I Get The Instructions?

If you’d like to make your own ornaments, you can follow the method I used by downloading my free instructions. Save the PDF file to your computer or cloud storage so that you can refer to them again and again. Just enter your details below.

When I was sewing some special projects for the Home Sweet Home Fabric Tour for Poppie Cotton, I saved up all my scrap pieces. And I also fussy cut some other pieces to highlight all of the adorable motifs in Elea Lutz’s collection. Can you spy the bluebirds, bunnies, houses, cherries and strawberries?

I used a paintbrush and PVA craft glue to overlap each of the fabric scrap pieces onto a clear plastic ornament ball, being careful not to get any glue near the screw-on top.

Once it dried clear, I added another layer of glue for some extra shine. Then I added a bow and hanging loop. I loved how it turned out so much that I made a second smaller version. I even cut out some flower motifs to add. Can you see the pink one above the bird on the right hand ornament? So cute!

They’re looking very sweet on the tree!

If you like these versions, you might also like the ones I made with my precious Liberty scraps. Aren’t they adorable? You can read more about them HERE.

I hope you love making these festive pieces year after year! And if you like the look of the Home Sweet Home Fabric Collection by Elea Lutz for Poppie Cotton, ask for it at your favourite retailer.

Happy crafting, Lauren x
