For the month of July I decided to set myself a 30 day challenge. And because I LOVE appliqué, an ‘appliqué a day’ seemed the obvious choice. So starting on the 1st of the month, I have created a different design every day, following the letters of the alphabet. The first week saw designs like an apple, babushka, cactus, deer, Eiffel tower, fox and girl. You can view all the images in last week’s post.
So we’ll kick this week off with the letter H – the Hedgehog; an adorable little animal that my daughter and I dearly wish existed in Australia!
I is for Icecream – a Summer staple, but barely seen in Winter. So it’s nice to see it here!
J was a tricky one for me. A Jar perhaps? And who doesn’t love a jar of lollies or sweets? Perfect!
K on the other hand was very easy. K is for Katie Koala; a popular Aussie icon and an equally popular PDF pattern in the store. You can sew this one up too!
L is for… isn’t this the cutest Lemon you’ve ever seen? I love how this turned out!
M is for Matilda Mouse. I think I’ll need to add this one to the pattern shop. So cute. And the Liberty trim is lovely!
N is for… Necklace.
I have to confess that although it can be challenging making the time to sew a different design every day, I’m really feeling more inspired and motivated. Have you tried a 30 day challenge before? What did you think?
Be sure to tune in next week for the third instalment!
Happy stitching everyone, Lauren x
